In this page I present three activities or ideas so that students could do in a wiki:
Behaviour rules:
The students are going to go on excursion to
the Science Museum of San Sebastian called Miramon and in small groups they are
going to think the rules which they should follow during the visit. Each
group’s member is going to edit the Wiki in order to write one rule. When all
the students have written the rule they will have a look to the rest of the
classmates’ Wikis in order to vote the best 10 rules. They will have to discuss
why they have chosen those specific rules giving reasons properly. Finally,
they will create a final Wiki in which they will write the top ten rules.
TASK 2
The old tree
The teacher is going to upload to the Wiki the
following pictures of “The old tree” story. The students are going to work in
groups of five members and they will have to write the story. Each pupil has to
write the sentences for two cartoons. Once they have finished they will share
their creation in the wiki so that the rest of the classmates can enjoy the
story.
TASK 3
Book reviewers in action
Once a week, the learners have to read a book in
order to acquire a taste for reading. When they finish it, they have to
complete the following book review in the wiki. This doesn’t mean a formal
report, since that might take the pleasure away from reading. Instead, it is a
quick comment about their reactions to the book they have read. We believe it
is a good idea because when other students look for a new book to read, they
will be able to use those comments to help them make their choice.
